GENERAL INFORMATION

There are three 'conditions' your necromancer should be aware of and they are Social Outrage (SO), Divine Outrage (DO) and State of Being (SOB). One doesn't affect the other and you can have different levels in each of these.

Social Outrage
SO is pretty much what it sounds like, it's how much society is currently pissed off with you quantified into a game mechanic. Don't think though that because you have little SO that the townspeople and players like you, always remember they hate you, they think you are evil, they are out to get you, ALWAYS. Remember, you ARE evil.

When you do get SO you will get a BURN HIM/HER message along with a suggestion you leave town. Take it. Your PVP stance will be changed to open and you won't be able to change it back to guarded for a couple of hours.

When your SO is high like that you can be arrested by guards and can't use town services like banks and shops. To bring your SO down you need to leave town for 2 hours of real time and it will drain. You will eventually get a message that it is safe and you can use town services - it doesn't mean you won't be arrested if there is a warrant out on you for perverse practices.

Once you have over 50% of the total amount of SO you can get you are considered PERVERSE. This means you have to leave town for 6 hours instead of two hours.

Ways to get SO: Ways to get rid of SO: SO is relatively easy to avoid, just stay out of towns. That is extremely boring though so the next best thing is to be smart about being in town. First, don't be in Crossing, they are on the lookout for necro's. Second, if you seem a bit necro-ish, don't hang out in big crowds in your town of choice, someone is bound to accuse you. There are usually non-justice areas that people sit at that you can spend time at to socialize and rp. Use ROC or EOTB if you're feeling a bit paranoid.

Divine Outrage
DO is how pissed the gods are at you. With enough DO you will have a 5% chance on each cast of any spell to be smited by the gods, lose your ability to get favors, be unabled to be healed by an empath or have a cleric help you when you die, be outted as a necromancer by Moon Mages and Clerics, and generally be cursed. Keep racking up the DO and you'll go into a nasty death spiral.

It sounds pretty bad but it probably won't affect your gameplay as much as a high SO will. We can heal ourselves and we can raise ourselves so it's a livable situation for a longer time.

You will get DO just by being a necromancer since everything we do seems to cause a tiny bit of it. You can ask Book about perverse and he'll give you a vague hint about the state of your soul. I don't have these messages yet but email me if you do so I can post them.

Ways to get DO: *The first cast gives you the DO hit and you have a 5 minute window to cast more spells from the same book without more DO accruing.

Ways to get rid of DO:

States of Being
There are five necro SOB's. You have less control over these states and they are more stable. These states may work hand in hand with your DO but they are not directly related. For example, you can have enough DO that you can't be raised by a cleric but still be in an unsullied state.
  1. Unsullied - All necro's start in this state and slowly move away from it. You can gain and use favors like a normal player.
  2. Forsaken - Casting CFB twice or SRE twice, or CFB once and SRE once will get you smote by the gods, you will lose all your favors and be unable to get more. You do not get a gamewide message saying you were killed by the gods. That message only happens when your DO is high enough to be randomly killed by them.
  3. Redeemed - Not in game yet.
  4. Lichdom - Not in game yet.
  5. Transcendence - Not in game yet.
